The PS4 has already had a few years of outstanding success, while the Switch has had less than one year. If Microsoft actually starts putting up a fight it could prove hard for the Switch, a system that is already struggling with ports of current games, to have the legs to surpass a system (the PS4) that essentially held unrivaled control of the market for the better part of half a decade.
For that reason I think it would be foolish to assume the Switch will surpass the PS4 as of right now even though I adore the Switch and expect it to also be a huge success.
