SMO is the best Mario game I have ever played. And I have played every console Mario platformer as they were intended. (ie I had a NES with Mario 1,2,3 and played them before SMW or Allstars).
My current Mario top 5.
1. Odyssey
2. Super Mario World
3. Super Mario 64
4. Super Mario Galaxy
5. Super Mario 3
The reason SMO is number 1 is quite simple. It is evocating the same emotions I felt as a kid when I played Super Mario World despite the fact I am 25 years older now. In essence I did not think any game would ever surpass the sense of wonder I felt back then, but even as an adult SMO has done that.

Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
