Exactly, Mr Pugsly is trying to say Nintendo is an outlier.

Again, you're misinterpreting.

Compared to other platforms the Nintendo audience is the outlier and that's why they don't get a lot of the same popular titles on other platforms.

Doom and Wolfenstein are coming to Switch because a big audience for those games is there per se. They are testing the water to see if audience is there. But much like CoD on Wii, games like that could do well at first and fade.

The thing is 3rd parties caused the outliers in the first place. When Wii was announced everyone banked on the PS3 to kill the competition. At the time it was understandable considering the success of PS2.

By the time the big franchises come out, many Nintendo fans bought the other systems, me included. At that point it become pointless buying those games on a Nintendo system as they either come out late or not at all.

We are at the point were they need to build the audience again. Some will go back to Nintendo only and some will remain multiconsole gamers like me.

However the kids who turn to teens will stick with Nintendo as the games are there for them to play. If the games are not their for them they will move on to the other systems.
