Too many PC developers just assume that the player will create their own control setup, and don't bother to think through a control scheme. The end result is that on a lot of games, I wind up with a control scheme that is sub-optimal.

A good example of this is SOMA. The game was designed to work with keyboard and mouse, but I don't like using a keyboard to control movement. Regular 360 controller support doesn't exist. But if you use the steam controller you are forced to use the dreaded trackpad, or motion controls which is even worse, than using keyboard arrows.

Of course SOMA supports the 360 controller: https://steamcommunity.com/app/282140/discussions/0/517142892049943619

As almost any PC game of the last decade.

That's great! I'll have to give this game a second try. I couldn't get over the keyboard controls, the first time I tried it.
