OP talks about birth so the creature you are when you get pushed out of your mother's vagina. During that time you have the second your father's spermcell gave you. Either X a second X or an X and a Y chronosone in 98.5% of the cases. Defining you as either a male or female or in the cases you don't have XX or XY you are called intersex. But a child in the making is 'essentialy' female (only the sibgle X chromosone is active) but you could also define that as genderless, since a single X doesn't define anything. That's why both males and females have nipples. An embryo doesn't start with creating genitals, and the second X or Y chromosome doesnt do anything the first 5 weeks. But after that period the second sex chromosome will do its work until that your gender is not fully a girl it is essentially single X meaning its indifferentiated.
