Apples to oranges describes your argument perfectly as I own HZD as wellas BB and have played the MH games sine the original they are nothing a like your quote doesn't even back what you're arguing as it's a general statement that highlights the difference in western and eastern tastes whats funny is that it backs what I'm saying as HZD is an open world adventure title similiar to the likes of Witcher and BOTW all of which are nothing like MH in how they play and are approached.

You cite BB as a vague example it has nothing comparable to what MH requires and the amount of grinding required it's akin to someone saying you attack and dodge in dark souls so it's like DMC when the applications are very different this is the flaw and you talk of PS4 users as if previous console users weren't diverse.

You've been able to set up traps and use vantage points and lure enemies for ages now in MH this is the difference between just playing one entry and following the series, monsters even crossed paths in previous games as well the only difference now is that it's more seamless. You also didn't understand the point about your cousin them cheating was because like many western players they didn't have the required patience for the grinding.

1st:

If you have really played you will definetly see some similarities. When I saw the trailers on E3. The first thing came into my mind is MH.
Guerilla games the one who developed HZD already telling people that MH is what inspired HZD. It seems you know way more than the developers then.  I mean , you hunt robo dinosaurs in the game. You gather material from the robo- dinosaur. Yes, it shared also similarities with Witcher 3. just like it shared some similarities with Tomb Raider. Just like it also shared similarities with Far Cry but you cannot also deny that it also similar to MH.

I will post this again.
“In Japan, the giant monster hunting action genre seems to be popular, so if people ask us whether we’ve been influenced by a particular title, I tell them frankly that we’ve gotten inspiration from Monster Hunter.”

Guerrilla Games even went on to further compare the two games. “Horizon: Zero Dawn may serve as an example of a Western hunting game,” said the developer.

Let's just ignored that fact because your opinion on the game is what matters. If the developer cannot convince you then I won't be able to convince you because your opinion = Fact.

2nd: I added BB because you will need grind in the game as well. BB players is a prime example gamers that can withstand grinding. Playing souls games will test your patience is skills. In grinding you will need patience.

Also, When did I say that other Playstation are not diverse? Please don't put words in my mouth. I will obviously talk about PS4 because it's a current console that's out in the market.
My point for the comparison is. Soulsborne audience will take a look at MHW. Horizon audience will take a look at MHW.  That's what I meant.
PS4 has a diverse audience that can potentially buy the game. It may or may not. That's what Capcom is aiming for with MHW the potential audience for them to expand. PS4 is one of the key ingredient because of the install base it have today.

3rd then I happy to say that I am wroing about some of my points.
But as for the grinding aspect. I don't know why you think western gamers won't adapt to it.
You will think. I am lying to you with this but my cousins are kids when they played PSP MH. PSP MH2 was from 10 years ago. Kids to be impatient and tends to brag.
I think we will need to agree to disagree on this point because you are too focus on  the grinding aspect. You will need to grind yes but you seem to ignore that having to hunt and plays with friends is also fun, MHW will have a more story focused MH. Making it more seemless is a plus. Great Graphics.
