You should have watched MNF. At the beginning of the fourth quarter the Lions had to settle for a field goal because they couldn't punch it in from the two yard line with three consecutive attempts. On the first attempt Abdullah fumbled for the second time which led to his benching. Down 20-3, the Packers offense came to life and made it 20-10 with ten minutes to go. This brief moment of hope got crushed on the ensuing drive when Theo Riddick - dongo's fantasy hope who had previously been repeatedly tackled for loss - broke loose and rushed down the field until one Packer had a change of mind and decided to tackle him; that single play could have done you in in fantasy because a 70-yard run plus touchdown is worth 13 points. Due to the late tackle is was only a 50 yard run. On a related note, if I heard that right last night, the Lions offense was without punts for the first time since 1978. I don't expect much from the Packers defense, but come on; at least force a couple of punts per game. Their best showing was on the first drive where the Lions would have been three and out if one of the Packers hadn't looked at a Lions player the wrong way. Jon Gruden said that there must have something happened that couldn't be seen in the replay. Lions drive extended and they go for a touchdown. Dumb refs. As for my upcoming fantasy matchup, yet another week where three of my starters are on a bye. Basically all the byes fell into a span of three weeks for my team. |
I watched the first half and got bored, so I went to bed. The only thing I learned from that game is that Abdullah could probably be tackled by just about anyone alive. Like Tony Romo with has bad back could come play defense and tackle this dude. Like a fan in the front rows could probably throw an empty plastic cup at him, and they'd take him down.
