It's a crappy trade. One player that will be started every week vs. scraps that are going to end up on the bench or dropped. That would be like me giving Kelce to shad for his shady offers. Keeping a player who delivers more often than not and picking others from waivers is a more reasonable approach than such a desperation trade. |
It's really not, and dropping any of those players would be utter stupidity, especially on his team.
Richardson is the 18th ranked WR on the year. In all but 2 games this season he's had like either 60 yards or a TD, or both. He's a solid #2 weekly, with #1 upside. Shepard, alongside Engram, are the only actually pass catching weapons left on the Giants for the season. That means targets, which means a reliable baseline performance. Combine that with the fact that the Giants will be playing from behind in every game for the rest of the year....that's a lot of volume for Shepard to produce with. SCAB's best current receivers are worthless now that Garcon was put on IR. And Doug Martin, as I already said, is still a highly capable RB. He had a throwaway last week, but aside from that he's been an RB1 his first two weeks after coming off the suspension, and an RB 2 the two weeks after.
He's getting more weekly points than he's losing.
