Because many of your representatives are corrupt or have been bought out, lobbying is legal and the president is a corporate crony.

Can you imagine, if it had been so since the beginning of the past century?

A trillion-dollar Standard Oil pushing fossil fuel into the 22nd century, and AT&T suffocating phone and internet services. It would likely be a less technologically advanced society as well, since there would be less innovative start-ups because of the fear of being copied or defeated by anti-competitive behaviour (something Google and Facebook, two companies which should have been broken-up already, are being accused of doing right now).

The fall of this country cannot come soon enough
