I understand his frustration. You'll see a lot of politicians that talk in platitudes during times like this or want to focus on mental health problems as the real cause but when it really comes down to it it's all just useless bullshit they're using to seem like they want to do something when in reality this is just a part of life in the legislative climate they've helped build around guns. 

The point is that the people didn't elect Paul as a minister, we elected him as a politician to presumably work towards our betterment. So quit praying and do something about it. You're in a position to do that. If my butcher tells me that his prayers are with me because I have cancer I take it as a well meaning thought from a position of ineffectiveness (he can't fix my cancer) but if my Oncologist I paid to fix it only has prayers I'd be pissed.
