Yeah, that's a fair point. What's important for devs is that they try to reach their vision as close as they can.

The highest internal HDD offere is 1TB, but my 4TB external works fine and could install it on the console.

But I was mostly joking, although I don't think it's hard to be there in 10 or 20 years.
