Yeah yeah sure, we can always find excuses to make the failures be the faulty of others and the merits our own and vice-versa.

In your defence, I think it is unfair not to give credit when credit is due. Sony's PSP was a success and it was entirely to Sony's merit.

Whatever users intended to do with their PSP, over 80 million units were sold of it.

And probably had several different reasons that each buyer bought, Multimedia and piracy probably had a considerable impact but we don't really can reduce to one or another.
