Yes, ufortunetly there are those who's metric for how good a game looks is "how much does it look like a Nintendo game?" and it makes having any sort of technical discussion quite difficult.
It isn't just Nintendo fans though, some people just can't contribute to this type of discussion. I once had a conversation with someone on here who was arguing that Halo 2 Anniversary was better looking than Killzone: Shadow Fall.
