Are you going to defend the poor sales of games like Metroid Federation Force, Devil's Third, Codename Steam, and Star Fox Zero? This year has been much better for Nintendo (I don't think they've put anything too bad), but the notion that everything Nintendo publishes is gold is so odd. 2016 wasn't a good year by any measure.

I didn't make a statement that everything Nintendo publishes is of high quality, so I have nothing to defend here. The thread title doesn't ask about all Nintendo games, but the average (=norm in this context) Nintendo game. The norm for Nintendo games is that they are quality products and some outliers don't change that.

You called half of Nintendo's output garbage, so you have certainly a lot more defending to do than me.

Not sure how take a figure of speech as literal for me and then not apply it to your post as well. Nintendo games get the high MSRP longer and it has nothing to do with the quality of the game. It can be a critical and commericial flop and still remain at its $40/50/60 pricepoint for years. You can say that they're just outliers, but when you have a single good game in 2016, and they all retain high price points, you don't get to dismiss an entire year's worth of output.

Edit: Forgot to look at 3DS, which had far larger output than the 7 or so Wii U games, but even combining them together. Much more below average than good.
