Not likely, but the worst part is your reasoning. xD Come on man, it won't sell better due to Nintendo wanting to focus more on it because they'll have an online service. 
Plus, I know VGC is undertracking Splatoon 2 A LOT, but its legs are not THAT impressive so far, I bet Oddyssey will leg out better... on top of having a better start, of course.
