Nor you and others that want to see Switch as a 9th gen

Gens are stupid at this point. If we had to stick by them, the only definition that makes any sense is Switch being 9th gen (or 8.5th gen if you wanna call it) alongside PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. But really, we're just heading into a time where each company does whatever the hell they want, generations as they were are no more.

I agree. This concept is not relevant anymore when you want to compare consoles currently in the market between them.

Logically speaking, if Switch and PS4 are the same generation, then Switch must also be in the same generation as the 3DS and Wii U. Since that doesn't make sense, Switch is not a part of the same generation as the PS4.

Why ? There is not a rule behind this categorization.

If Nintendo launch a new home console at the same time of PS5 and Next Xbox, would you call this new Nintendo Console as 10th gen and PS5/Next-XB as 9th gen ?

But in the end, regardless of the generation, what matters are only the concurrent consoles present on the market at the same time.
