I can't say i'm surprised (we already know the current NS install base is very quick to jump on new Nintendo releases, and 3D Mario is one of their biggest), but mightily impressive none the less. It should be clear sailing to 10 million.

Actually should be a surprised. I think super mario galaxy did around 2mil sell thru in its first month. But hey what do i kno :p

I was surprised when more than a third of Switch owners bought an MK8 port at launch. Why would i then be surprised that a brand new game that's been swarmed in rave reviews and has frequently been at the centre of Switch marketing since before its launch manages something similar?

This is the 4th time in a row a major Switch release has been a 'surprise' relative to its predecessors. Why would i still be using that as the basis for my expectations? Not every big success has to be a shock :p
