While i agree with you with the bolded, in Insomniac case their best games has been exclusive to something while their shittiest has been Multiplats. Maybe coincidence, but it should be looked closer. |
They've only had a couple multiplatform games, one of which was subject to EA's oversight. The only other multiplat I recall was actually pretty solid, and was a $15 budget game. They've made far more allegedly-bad games when exclusive than not - the Ratchet fanbase HATES FFA, A4O, sometimes QfB, and Deadlocked even gets trash for being different sometimes. Plus there was that GamingBrit video on the PS4 game that did the usual "it's been a year, this game is no longer good" revision that changed public opinion a decent bit.
The phrasing I'd use if I were you is that their games are miles better when they have their own oversight - Fuse was morphed into a generic, throwaway title due to EA, while the rest of their games have been at the very worst "decent" when they were their own boss, and just tossed the funding by Sony/MS/even internally or through a micropublisher like GameStop.
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
