Switzerland has 4 official languages: German, Italian, French, and Romansch (in decreasing order of popularity.) There is no official "Swiss"
However, it's to be noticed that the German spoken in Switzerland has a very strong local dialect, called Swiss German.
The written form, though, is identical to the standard German, and while a German may have some difficulty understanding a Swiss person, Swiss people have no problem doing the contrary, as the so-called high-german is also what's taught in schools. |
French is more spoken than Italian but otherwise yes that is correct. Also, Swiss-German borrows some words from French and vice versa.
The melting pot of languages and cultures is probably why our video game charts is so diverse: very friendly to Nintendo Games juste like France and pc retail games are also popular just like in Germany.
