I mean Swimming isn't really known for it's selling out of stadiums but it goes to show that Football has no competition here. Where I live, rugby is very popular and the rugby team and football team share the same stadium and the football team still gets way more numbers.
In America there's so many massive sports which is why it's so difficult for the football to get that prominence outside of the world cup and your Premier league/la liga etc fans. Lots of these guys never watch the MLS.
