The first game you had to grind to many hours. Also it's not as bad as you make it out to be. Mordor is around 23 hours to beat the story and extras https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=18006 .

Shadow of War is 35 hours to beat the game and extras. https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=44022

You can play the game  without lootboxes and without hundreds of hours of grinding.

True but that's not why people are making a fuss over loot boxes. Ya ever hear of that saying "give an inch and they'll take a mile"? People want to stop it before it gets worse.

Here's where activsion is playing around with matchmaking algorithms that pit noob players against experienced players with the goal of them hopefully buying in-game items with money.

"For instance, the microtransaction engine may match a more expert/marquee player with a junior player to encourage the junior player to make game-related purchases of items possessed/used by the marquee player. A junior player may wish to emulate the marquee player by obtaining weapons or other items used by the marquee player.”

The system looks at players’ profiles to determine their specific playstyles. One example given by the patent is that a player who has shown a proclivity towards sniper rifles will be paired with a player who is proficient with this type of weapon. The novice player may then be influenced to purchase the sniper rifle (and gear) used by the expert player. After this purchase, the player would then be placed in a match where sniper rifles are advantageous, thus encouraging future purchases."

It's just better to nip this kind of shit in the butt instead of ignoring this kind of crap til it's too imbedded into the games to reverse it. As soon as they push for an itch, raise some hell.

I don't agree with the way Activision has handled microtransactions but it's different from how Shadow of War has done it. I'm okay with the way Shadow of war does it but if somehow they make it worse then yeah I'll call BS on that.

Not if you want the true ending. Thats not true.

Honestly, just stop. It disgusts me to see people defend these trash companies on their BS.

You don't need to buy anything to get the true ending.

Shadow of Wars microtransactions are not BS because you can play the game regularly without it and it doesn't take much longer to beat it.

If microtransactions are like CoD then I won't defend 6hat but there isn't anything wrong with the way they are handled in Shadow of War.
