"First off, the thread title needs explanation."

lol that's both an understatement and one of my favorite opening sentences to a thread.

Anyway, while I understand the intent of "reverse racism", the phrase itself is flawed as what it describes is, in fact, old fashioned "racism" just like any other.

As for your question I'd say that people (myself included) are simply happy to see third party support actually making an effort on the Switch, and for the first time in ages I actually find myself wanting to buy third party games for a Nintendo platform.

I think the key difference here is that, as a result of how compact and portable the Switch is, it's entirely reasonable for games to look better on larger and more expensive hardware. The thing is, when you're playing it in portable mode those games generally look wonderful in the hand (in my experience it's been about the most impressive handheld gaming experience I've ever had) and, while they won't match the visuals of the PS4 Pro/Xbox1 X/PCs, they have so far had mostly quality ports that have visuals in docked mode which only trail slightly behind what the original PS4 is capable of.

That's what, I believe, has many of us excited. If this were some similarly-priced console-only nintendo platform that received crappy third party ports which were clearly inferior to the other options, people would probably stop buying those games for Nintendo platforms as I largely did with the Wii and Wii U.

Instead, the Switch is offering a unique experience that's still capable of quality ports, with the visual gap only being very obvious with newer, larger, more expensive hardware (Pro/Xbox 1 X). If said visuals were all that mattered to me I'd buy these games exclusively for my PC, but more goes into these decisions for most people than just graphical considerations.
