That is the link between a Driver and a Blade. Blades are companion characters of sorts that are bound to the player characters and grant them weapons and arts. Each character can have 3 Blades bound to them, each bringing 3 arts to combat. Each Blade also has an elemental special attack with 4 levels of power.
