Sitting seems like the thing to do in that situation, considering they've set up chairs and all, and there probably isn't a convention established via practice, unlike in sports events. As much as I dislike Trump, this isn't hypocrisy. It seems like an accidental violation of the code of conduct, but it certainly doesn't seem like hypocrisy to me. As always, context is the key.

There are definitely chairs in a football stadium.

It's questionable why they played the anthem while he was (I assume) being interviewed, or vice versa, but he would definitely call anyone out if it wasn't him that did it.

For the players, on the field? Trump's situation was clearly set up for sitting. He certainly ended up breaking the code of conduct due to the circumstances, but if someone's to blame, it's probably the channel because of setting up the interview situation so poorly.
