instead of getting emotional, can you suggest a tangible solution to the problem of people having the capacity for evil and having the wherewithal to act on evil impulses?

communism (reducing freedom of choice dramatically) seems to be the most common answer people have been pushing (whether they realise it consciously or not)

We can start by actually testing the 400,000 rape kit backlog and prosecuting those convicted.

Further, convictions should be severe. A slap on the wrist for a rapist sends no message to other rapists but it does tell women they are devalued in the eyes of the law and the nation.   Imagine getting raped, reporting it but with everyone looking at you skeptically, your kit gets on the 400,000 case backlog, it takes years of reliving the rape before it finally goes to trial, then the rapist gets 6 months.

Make that kind of violation severe, reduce the backlog so the trials happen in reasonable time, send a national message to women that they matter and you'll get less assaults.

Solutions exist.  We, as a nation, simply don't give a damn enough to implement them.

Hold up. Why are you gendering this issue?
