I don't think this generation has been any more or less disappointing than any others. But, I will note that the loot box craves currently sweeping gaming is very concerning to me. It will be interesting to see how that plays out going forward.
Ask for game of the generation, I don't disagree with your choice of Destiny. It was heavily hyped, and very heavily played. It also disappointed many people. I played far more of it than any other game in my entire lifetime.
I would also put Zelda and The Witcher 3 forward as examples of monumentally excellent games, with very little disappointment or bullshit around them.
