If that's the case, then wouldn't the new Animal Crossing game be released far enough apart from the 3DS one. New Leaf came out in 2013 I beleive. Happy Home Designer in 2015. 2018 would be about 3 years. This would be the same game between MK7 and MK8. I don't see the issue then. 

Like i said before in this thread, i'd be happy with 2018 anyway. It was more of a timing thing, which made me think 2019. Not sure if Nintendo stick to rigid time spaces between their franchise releases.
