lol no cause in the movies and shows the winners and "good guys" are always democrats because hollywood is full of liberals. Swingvote was the only one I can think of that actually had a Republican president that wasn't portrayed as a total moron compared to the other guy (they were both, equally, portrayed as morons). 

And what proportion of movies where the President is a character really identify him by party?  In other words, are you sure you aren't just assuming they're all Democratic because the movie is made by Hollywood? 

Looking at a Wikipedia list of fictional vice presidents, I skimmed over the descriptions and arrived at these counts:  about 120-130 different works of fiction, which I counted only once per party (a TV series with 5 presidents from the same party counts as 1); about 25 named as Democrats form that list and about 22 named as Rebuplican; about 1 Democrat that I spotted as heroic from the description and about 4 that I spotted as villainous, compared to 0 and 1 Republican respectively; and about 6 independent or from some other party.  However, this list is not restricted to movies; there were a lot of books and TV series.
