That is what I was thinking. Did Nintendo wait for 3DS to die before releasing Pokemon Go and Fire Emblem f2p game? Nope. Besides New Leaf sales have come to a crawl even with the Amiibo update that brought a few new things such a 2 mini games into the game. My thinking is that it would be smarter to release it now and possible give the old title one last bump before being sent to the pasture. I still believe with digital sales that New Leaf has a small ass chance of surpassing Wild World sales.
