Uf, you are wrong from start, Nintendo did not specifically said it's replacement just for Wii U, and its very obvious that Switch is platform that will replace Nintendo separate home console platfrom and seperate handheld platforms. Focus and transition on Switch started long ago, if you look 3DS games, you will see that those games are mostly ports, remasters, spin offs and smaller projects, while all bigger projects are now for Switch.
Why Animal Crossing for Switch is most likly 2018. game!? They released last one 4 years ago so 5 years would fit perfectly with new one, they aiming to release Animal Crossing mobile game and they want to use it like marketing tool for main Animal Crossing game on console, with Switch they aiming to have few huge system seller games for each year so we definitely getting Animal Crossing or Pokemon next year and I think chances are higher for Animal Crossing.
Totaly disagree, I am actually most certain that Smash Bros 4DX/5 will be 2018. game from unannounced 2018. Nintendo games. Most possible hevi hitters for 2018. are Smash Bros 4DX/5, Animal Crossing (or maybe Pokemon), Retros game, Next Level Games game (Luigis Mansion 3 maybe).. For 2020. he have more than enuf time for other hevi hiters and other new games, Pokemon, Metroid Prime, 2D Mario/MarioMaker, new 3D/TopDown Zelda..
You are not right, of course that Nintendo will have some heavy hitters for Switch in 2018. and Animal Crossing is actually one of most likely games.
You already got answer on your point, those games are developed buy Nintendo EPD thats big enuf that can handheld more than 2 games in same time, not to mention that Splatoon is made from lotsa new people in team and that Splatoon 2 reused lotsa things from Splatoon, also its posibilite that Animal Crossing started like Wii U project and that later was moved to Switch. In other words, we can easily have Animal Crossing game in 2018. |
I think we all know that the Switch is the replacement for the 3ds ,it's just that Nintendo haven't publicly conceded it just yet. It's my conclusion that Nintendo will do so, in 2018, some time near the time it is discontinued. Then we will start to see more "3ds-like" games/franchises appear on the Switch.
