I think 3D Worlds problem was it's initial trailer and the first half of the game. The first trailer was very much boring and looked bad. Later ones were great from recalling. But the same was for the actual game. The first few worlds were just boring and so unoriginal. Towards the end it was some fun imaginative, exciting, flashy levels. Especially when you got to like the final world at the big carnival setting.
It is a highly underappreciated game, but I can see how people may have put the game down too early or not picked it up.
