I was mainly referencing the statement about not being able to support current TVs that just came to market recently. The Wii only had component cables and I believe stuck at 480p just like the GC. Flat panel TVs were still not mass market at the time of launch but once prices dropped they were mass market around the middle or towards the end of the generation. I believe I didn't get my first flat panel TV till about 2009 or so. Basically, you are insulting the Switch's inability to go past 1080p and that they aren't taking advantage of the current generation of TVs that have higher definition outputs. The situations seems very similar considering ultra high def TVs aren't even close to having a majority share yet. If I would take a guess that won't happen for another 2-3 years. |
Guilty as charged.
I've also in the past insulted the PS4 Pro (which I own) for not having a UHD Bluray Player which is ridiculous considering Sony is one of the heads behind the Bluray, I recently (elsewhere) insulted the fact it does not have an SSD drive which would allow it to react faster, I've occasionally insulted the Xbox for their lack of games capable of competing with the PS4's and on occasion I have insulted PC gaming for different reasons that would go way off topic here to mention.
But of course reasonable non frustrated people saw in the word "insult" its actual meaning which is "debate" "give an opinion" "analyze" etc...
So I'm sorry if a few feel the need to act fanboyish and tribal as if criticism of commercial hardware was a personal attack on their honor or something but, and to make things perfectly clear, I will not give up my right to have an opinion and to criticize where criticism is needed.
And people are free to either see it as an opinion they may or may not agree with or an insult which is going to hurt personally. I don't mean the latter but if that's how some feel, I am most definitely NOT sorry.
Hope to see you among the reasonable ones, mate.
