Did they add that later, I never saw an explain button, nor did it ever tell me how to jump. It happened by accident a couple times and then I started experimenting to figure out how to reproduce it. I remember it well, no clue how to get magic working in my first attempt at the game.

Dark souls was a lot of fun in the end, so the frustration was worth it. However I still haven't started Bloodborne. Kinda had enough of the series after DS2. I don't mind the dying, I do mind reload times. If it would reset instantly I would play it. Why does it need to reload the level anyway, just reset the enemies.

Nope, it's always been there

I honestly can't remember if there was a note that taught you to jump, but i'm almost 99% certain. I also can't remember if the jump was required. Now that I figured out how to use an Xbox One controller, i'll probably replay Dark Souls on PC sometime.

Oh that, that doesn't say anything useful. I know what dexterity is, not what it meant for this game. Nor how atunement slots work or needing to hold what thing in your hand to cast, nor how to get or upgrade those items. All I got for 20 hours, failed to meet requirements or some such when I tried to cast.

The jump is needed to get to certain items and also kinda essential in the lower depths. Which I couldn't find either since the door down looked just like any other painted on door and was in a place where the dragon appears, not a spot to start looking. DS seems to expect you to be connected to follow the hints from other players.
