Wind Waker is teeming with personality and probably the best artwork of the series outside of the overly simplistic Link design which set things off on the wrong foot. Plus the story is as good as any. But at the same time, it's easily the most flawed Zelda game of the bunch. Hardly any dungeons, bosses that could easily be beaten on the first try, sailing being a chore, oddly broken rupee drop RNG, fetch-quests taking up a good chunk of the play time.
It's astounding how it can be the most polished presentation-wise and yet the least polished gameplay-wise Zelda game at the same time.

Yeah the game seems to really be hit and miss with people, and yeah I get the flaws and why people wouldn't like them, but the two things that count for me are story and presentation, and of all the Zelda games I've played (I've not played all of them) it is easily without a doubt top of those two categories.
Also I really didn't mind the sailing if I'm being honest lol.

I didn't really like the original WW all that much, but the remaster was something that I loved.
