Indies games have never felt right to me on home consoles. They're generally to low in budget for the big screen for me, especially for more 2D or simplistic 3D indies. The Switch is the only home console I've bought an indie game for and that's just because it happens to be a handheld as well.

I agree. Just something off putting some 8-bit, 16-bit game on some 60"+ screen. Heck if I want to plug back in an old system, like the nes or something and play say turtles in time, I want to plug into some 27" tube tv. Just feels right. I have only been buying indies on pc, cause I can have it on a side monitor while other stuff is going on. I have a hard time committing some big fancy tv screen's whole real estate to a indie game. I do have many indies on handheld devices such as 3ds though. So they seem to feel good on the go too, or the small screen.

But then also, people bring up nostalgia for Nintendo games all the time, but many of these indie games sure do bring up nostalgia by having them on the go. Just take Sonic Mania for example. Who here above the age of 30 doesn't get huge Game Gear vibes when seeing that thing on the Switch. It's worth getting on that system alone for that. Nostalgia whether you like it or not improves ones game experience. It's like smelling a familiar scent, or eating somethign that reminds you of home, ect. Your memories make that experience/food better.
