A company meets their forecast and the stock sits even. A company beats their forecast and stock rises slightly. A company doesn't meet their forecast, even if by just a dollar, stock plumets. THere really isnt' much of a benefit to raising forecast. Sure when they announce the increase, stock will go up slightly, but not enough to warrent the extra risk of not meeting forecast. |
