I'd still recommend playing the first 2 if one has a PC. The atmosphere, storytelling and characters are just amazing imho. That said they are quite expansive and I can understand anyone who doesn't have the time to go through all of them, especially since the fighting system in TW1 is a bit unconventional. Not forgetting TW3 even has 2 great expansions which I myself am still struggling to compete due to lack of time.
