Their aren't that many if any constition that states that regions/provinces/states can hold that kind of referendum or declare independence.

Secondly I didn't made a thread about it because it is very complicated while I believe a huge majority agrees that how spain handled it was surprisingly shocking and now we are back to the game of 'wait and see what is going to happen'

On one hand, I'm not surprised that Spain was heavy handed about it, but I would surely think that they would have been able to handle this situation better. There had been news about this for quite some time now.
