Almost all governments will go to great lengths to preserve the unity of it's country/territories regardless of what it is written on paper or what is considered right/wrong. I don't consider that is fascism btw. I've watching some of tim pool's coverage of it. They won't get their independence without some use of force because Spain won't allow a referendum or respect it. The UN won't do anything unless Spain starts killing a lot of people to prevent Catalonia from going independent.
