Right, because consoles sell the most in their first year on the market. That's why PS4 sold the most in 2014 and has only declined since. It's not like PS4 is selling faster in 2017 than in any previous year or anything.

That's not what I said but on a month-to-month basis, surely a newer console is expected to outsell a console that's 3.5 years old. Your comparison with the PS4's 2014 kinda fails because, in 2014, the PS4 was outselling the older systems.
