I wouldn't be so sure. I mean, Nintendo is surely putting up some big stocks for the holiday season with Mario and Xenoblade. If they manage to sell 12 million until the end of this year, then the Wii U will be beaten in it's first year for sure

The only reason I feel like that isn't likely is because Nintendo already said they expect to ship 13 million by march of 2018. But I'm not sure, in fact nothing about my comment was sure. Except for "it won't sell 14 million by january 1st", that's almost impossible
