I liked both consoles, and the Sega Saturn. But, I have to go with PS1 here. It has literally hundreds of great games.
But, most importantly, the controller was a signifcant step forward for console gaming. While it has been improved upon, the basic design of that controller is still in use today, as the Dualshock 4. It also inspired the Pro controllers that we now see from Nintendo, and it appears to have influenced the original XB controller as well. The XB controllers have continued to evolve from that design. So, I think we can see a bit of the original PS controller in almost all console controllers today.

N64 did have my two favorite games of the generation though - Mario 64 and Goldeneye.

Nintendo pro controllers look like 360 controllers, and the n64 introduced the modern analog stick and rumble, (and four player WITHOUT an adapter)

360 controllers look like original XB controllers.  Those controllers are much closer to the PS controllers than anything that came before.

But, yeah, I forgot about the analog stick and rumble from N64.  Those are important innovations.  The problem is, the controller is awkward.
