It isn't rocket science. Neither is a quick Google search. RE7 recouped its development costs, and if you weren't so busy trying to be condescending, this would have taken two minutes of your time.

To add, Capcom very likely expected RE VII to perform similiar to 6, which is unrealistic as hell since that was the peak of the franchise.

Underperform /=/ bad or unprofitable

6 wasnt the peak, but it was still very high compared to the rest of the franchise.
