Wii U did get a 2K and a Fifa. It also got Batman, Darksiders, 2 CoD titles, 2 Assassins Creed titles, Ninja Gaiden 3, Zombii U, Mass Effect and a host of other third party titles. You see any of that on Switch?

I stand corrected. No, I don't see any of that on Switch but consider WiiU launched at the end of the PS360 era just about matching them in terms of power. This made it easier to port PS360 games to it. The Switch is releasing in the middle of this gen and we're seeing games release on it like Xenoverse 2 which was only released on PC, PS4, and X1 prior. We're now getting Doom 2016 too and there's interest in getting Overwatch and FF15 on the Switch as well perhaps because the Japanese spend big money on microtransactions and mobile gaming is big over there.

DOOM came out so late that it would be silly to think it would come to Wii U.

WiiU was still set to get games in 2016. Its life was yet to end but no Doom 2016. Switch will be getting that title even though it's hardly more powerful than WiiU.

However, it seems you forgot about the Wii U and its third party support. But that is OK because I did not. I suffered through that generation and the people that blasted it.

I confess I didn't even bother to look it up. I'd much rather other people look it up for me and I'll happily accept being corrected. Thanks!

I am telling you, nothing has changed, I have been here the whole way.

I think something has changed. I'm seeing much greater interest and enthusiasm for the Switch than I did for the WiiU. Let's look at some numbers:

The WiiU reveal trailer over a period of some six years has accrued views just shy of 12 million.

Contrast this to the Switch reveal which under ONE year has built up an impressive 32.9 million views.

Go beyond and compare it to reveal trailers that have been around longer:

or even

I'm seeing an enthusiasm for the Switch that I did not see for the Wii U and if third party releases for the Switch can make third parties money, we can only expect more support moving forward.

$$$ speaks louder than specs.

I completely agree. I am very excited going forward with Switch. I was just noting the change and hoping to keep people level on the idea that Nintendo has somehow figured third party developers out. The same issues persist. I am happy that Switch is getting DOOM... I am going to buy it. I am also happy Switch is a massive success since I was there day 1 and telling everyone I felt it would be a Wii-like success. I also do believe if the games sell well, this will mean more games in the future (which was Wii U's main death nail. The quality support was there, the games sold doo-doo).

My commentary is an attempt to be neutral. I am not trying to give anything other than perspective on Nintendo's current situation. I hope things continue to look upward for Switch but I am not going to act like a fairly watered-down port or two from Bethesda has all of a sudden turned Nintendo's third party relations around. I bought the third party games for Wii U and a lot of my resentment comes from the fact that people were bashing me for liking, "watered-down ports with minimal effort" on Wii U but since this is Switch, people are willing to give games with seemingly the same amount of care a pass. And I also really want Nintendo to get their third party relationships back on track for good. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.
