Actually you have some people who deny that, even in this thread (post above).

As I already stated, how you play it does not determine what it actually is. The fact that people feel it offers a home console experience does not make it a home console or a hybrid. My laptop can reproduce desktop performance and be hooked up to a monitor or televison... it even came with the cables to do so. Does that somehow make my laptop a hybrid? No. It is just a diverse laptop at best or a reuglar ass laptop to most people.

The non subjective way to determine a hybrid is by its quantifiable physical hardware. It does not have to offer a certain experience to be a hybrid (a hybrid car does not have to offer the same gas mileage as a petrol fueled car in order to be call a hybrid). That is not what determines a hybrid and has never been what determines a hybrid.

Its not point only how you play or what people feel, but its fact that offer full home console experience and full home handheld experience in one, reagrdles if you will use Switch mostly like home console, or like handheld console mostly, or if you will use both sides equally, that's why most of people are saying that Switch is hybrid of home console and handheld, because very obviously its both in one. Switch is from start developed in that way, to offer full home console experience and full handheld experience, that's why you have detachable Joy Cons, thats why you have Dock thats gave image to TV and powers Switch, thats why games in home console mode are working at higher resolution compared to portable mode, that why games are developed to work in two seperate mods, thats why in one second you can change portable to home console mode and continue playing, and of course you have all that right away out of box, and that's why people are calling Switch a hybrid, so it very obvious that Switch isn't just a handheld with HDMI OUT like you want to present it.
