The game is around 540p undocked (according to Digital Foundry) and 720p docked.

This just confirmed docked resolution and that it's the same assets rendered at the higher resolution.

So... I am the only one that is going to say it, huh?

If this exact same game, with these exact same specs, and the missing features had been announced as a Wii U port of DOOM, basically no one, myself included, would be happy with the port. The standards have changed. My how the standards have changed.

The Switch's unique selling point is so much stronger than the Wii U's even if the concepts are related. There was no justification for the Wii U having crappier versions of many titles. Viewed as a handheld, the Switch is offering something the other consoles just can't approximate in any way and that is actually desirable. Dual screen in the living room was the best for non-gaming applications, but didn't improve your experience beyond slightly more convenient map and split screen benefits.

NOW people are viewing it as a hand held? We view it as a hand held when it is convenient now?

Lets be real here, Nintendo;s problems with third party developers has not changed. Bad ports with worse frame rate and missing features has been a standard for Nintendo consoles since Wii. Nothing has changed except people's perception. If I said Wii U had more western AAA third party support than Switch did at this point, people immediately say the ports were not as good. Well, Switch has fewer third party ports and they are also not as good. People are simply changing their tune. DOOM is an auto purchase for me. I am noting that people are allowing the same things they murdered Wii U over to slide with Switch while praising third party support at the same time. Nothing has changed.
