Doom is "FPS: The Game". 

Thats not to say I didn't enjoy it; it's a great shooter. But let's not delude ourselves about what it is.

 

Doom plays completely differently from any shooter out now aside from Wolfenstein. Let's not reduce it to "FPS: The Game."
