You were right, buy I never said that Doom want be 30 FPS, just that isn't certain.

That DF video is a joke, they didnt had direct footage, they used Nintendo Direct footage, and they emulated Nintendo hardware on PC and then draw conclusions from that, thats actualy hilarious. Not to mention that this still isnt final version of game.

You do realise that closed gaming platform like Switch (or PS4 or XB1, or any console), can run games much more optimised than PC with similar specs!? Because at consoles, hole hardware, platform, OS, system software, APIs, tools...are made specifically to use most of (in this case) Switch hardware just for gaming. Why do you think last gen we had some very impresive and good looking games, despite fact that PS3/Xbox360 had decade old CPU/GPU and only 512MB RAM, PC with those specs couldnt even start most of PS3/Xbox360 games.

I dont think that Wolfenstein 2 will be much different than Doom on Switch, but lets just first wait final launch version of Doom for Switch and proper DF article for final game. ;)

And actually even current version of Doom in handheld mode looks and works quite well.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eOdEkmTP0o

The staff from DF said that they played Doom on Switch and reported it to be 30FPS so they didn't only just draw their conclusions from simulating Switch hardware ...

Closed platforms USED to have an advantage in terms of optimization but now that DX12/Vulkan exists we can rule that out for the most part ... (DF was running Doom on Vulkan so the PC version is just as optimized as the console versions.)

At least we both know that the framerate in Wolfenstein 2 on Switch won't be much different from Doom on Switch ...

30FPS is only thing we can take serious from that DF video, because other media also reported 30FPS, all the other DF conclusionscan't be taken serious.

I agree that difference is smaller than before, but sonsole platforms still have advantage compared to PC, console hardware and software (hole hardware, platform, OS, system software, APIs, tools..) is still much more optimized for games than PC. PC version will definitely not be optimised like console versions, Bethesda specify optimised Doom for consoles hardware, using consoles platform, OS, system software, APIs, tools...to use most of hardware of that console for game.

Agree, we need to wait final version of Doom first, and definitely differences for Wolfenstein2 will not be big compared to Doom on Switch.

So it looks like I ended up being right, Doom will target 30FPS on the Switch ...

What's more is that DF cheated a little bit too with their simulated Switch. Instead of using Maxwell, they used Pascal (a GT 1030 clocked at 620MHz is definitely faster than the Switch's GPU) and paired it up with a CPU that's clocked twice as high ... (The bandwidth on this system is higher too.)

A system that's more powerful than the Switch in docked mode and all they could manage was 540p with dips below 30FPS too ...

Are you sure you want to contest that Wolfenstein 2 will be any different when it's running on the same engine as doom with a similar performance profile on home consoles too ?

DF noted in their article though that Doom on Switch runs smoother than their jerry-rigged PC version, resolves textures faster, and that "the developers of the Switch game have access to more features though and can tune the Doom engine specifically for the Nintendo hybrid."

Exactly, and of course this is not final version of game, game is still getting optimised, maybe we want have 60 FPS, but for instance we could have slightly higher resolution with stable frame rate.
