I'm glad to see most people are finally accepting the Switch as a hybrid rather then putting it as just a handheld or just a home console. It is the succesor to the Wii U and the 3DS, it has the benefit of being both handheld and home console.

I've been making this point since it was revealed but I'm happy to see the majority now concur. Maybe my endless arguing wasn't all in vein.

Obviously you'll get a few people will still try and argue it's just a handheld or just a home console but they're in the minority.

You have been making the point that is an hybrid just to suport your point that it should sell just as much as a Nintendo console and handheld combined to be considered succesful, which is quite absurd.

It is an hybrid, that part alone is pretty much right.

Exatly, despite point that Switch is hybrid, its still one device and one platform, for instance Wii U and 3DS are two totally different platforms, with different price points, different lineup of games, different marketings...so comparing sales of one device and one platform (despite with two totally different platforms) definitely is not best comparison.

There were people who used to mock me in these threads when I used to talk about it as a hybrid.

No, people were mocking you because you illogically think that Switch should sell 3DS and Wii U numbers combined.

Agree.

home video game console, or simply home console, is a video game device that is primarily used for homegamers, as opposed to in arcades or some other commercial establishment. Home consoles are one type ofvideo game consoles, in contrast to the handheld game consoles which are smaller and portable, allowing people to carry them and play them at any time or place, along with microconsoles and dedicated consoles.

Nobody really called Wii U hybrid because it did not offer full handheld experience, you couldn't go out and play it. But Switch offers full handheld experience and full home console experience, it's basically hybrid of handheld and home console in one devaice, it can be used like real home console or like real handheld.

So...... my 3DS is a home console since I primarily use it at home as opposed to arcades or other commercial establishment? No. Your definition is incorrect.

Nobody called Wii U a hybrid because it ISN'T a hybrid. A hybrid does not have to offer a full experience, just a combination for a greater experience than the sum of its separated parts.

Well thats meaning of video home console from Wiki, not my definition. But I think that we can agree that home console means console that's used for playing just at home on TV.

Agree that Wii U wasnt hybrid, it was just home console with tablet like controler, but Switch is a hybrid, people calling Switch hybrid because offers full home console experience and full handheld experience in same time.

Nobody has ever denied that the Switch itself is a hybrid machine.

Actually you have some people who deny that, even in this thread (post above).
