Also, comparing clubs from countries like Monaco playing in the French league or clubs from San Marino playing in the Italian league to Catalan clubs playing in the Spanish league isn't really a fair comparison. Countries like Monaco and San Marino are from micro-states unable to host a professional league of their own. Comparing it to Welsh teams playing in the English leagues also isn't really fair, that goes back over a century and Wales still has their own league as well, if 1 Catalan team gets granted entry into the Spanish league there's no reason why other Catalan teams wont demand that as well.

If Catalonia successfully gains independence (they wont), it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if UEFA forces them to have their own league. Personally I also think that every country should host their own league if they're able to do so.

We have it here in the UK. Swansea are a Welsh team but play in the English Premier League.

Cardiff another welsh team plays in the english leagues. It wouldn't be unprecedented for Barcelona to still play in La Liga if they gained independence.
